Oki slipped quietly into the Academy, Kovu padding eagerly along beside her with his head and tail held high. Oki had wanted to stay home, spend the day curled up with ice cream Suoh had been trying to feed her for the two previous days, but Suoh wouldn’t hear of it. Oki had been surprised when he had pulled the blankets from her at the crack of dawn, insisting that she get up, because it meant Suoh was up that early. She felt exhausted, but things needed to be done. Maybe Suoh had a point that getting back into her regular routine as quickly as possible would help.
She could hear the others in the teacher’s lounge, but she bypassed it and walked instead directly to her office. Being here didn’t mean she felt her best, and she looked far from it. She had gone for comfort in her clothes today, pulling on a knitted sweater and a pair of jeans in place of the usually form-flattering outfits that served as part of her strategy for control pubescent boys. Suoh had looked her over strangely, but had made no comment. He just seemed relieved when she brushed her hair, left it loose, and left the apartment with Kovu in tow.
She unlocked her office as quietly as possible and slipped inside, hesitating in the doorway when she saw the roses. Who would be sending her those?

The roses had apparently been there a couple days, but at least they'd been put in water, and left in the sunshine of Oki's office window.
There was a small note attached.
Oki, Perhaps Suoh was right about some things. I'll keep away for now... But I can't give up on you. ~Yuki

Oki read the note while Kovu began to poke around the office and tipped over the waste paper bin tucked under her desk. She closed her eyes tightly, pinching the bridge of her nose between her thumb and forefinger. Of course they were from him. When were they ever from anyone else? She turned away from the roses and dropped her bag on her desk, starting the inquisitive cub who jumped up onto the desk as she sat down.
"So what do we do here?" he asked eagerly.
"I have to teach. You'll just have to keep yourself entertained and out of trouble while I do. Are you sure you don't want to go home?"
"No!" Kovu said quickly. "I like it here. It's way more funt han I'd be having at home."

There were light footsteps leading up to the door, and then they stopped, and there was a light knock outside the door.
Fukurou was standing there, looking quite awkward...

Kovu's ears had twitched when he heard the approach from down the hall, and he had turned himself, crouching on the desk. With a playful snarl, and before Oki could stop him, he pounced. Oki tried to grab him before he launched himself at Fukurou, but his tail slipped through her grasp.
"Kovu! No!" she snapped.

Fukurou wheeled around, and out of instinct, turned the doorway between himself and the cub into a wall of flames - thankfully, they would cause no burns, and in fact made no heat, but solid none-the-less... Unfortunately, in this process, he dropped the two cups of steaming tea he had been holding all over the floor and himself...

Kovu bounced off the wall of flames and bounced back, cringing at Oki's displeasure as she rose from her chair. "Yes m'am," he said quickly, curling his tail around himself.
Oki walked past the cub and to Fukurou. "Fuk! Are you alright? I'm so sorry about him; we're still learning human world manners, aren't we Kovu?"
The cub again responded with a meek "Yes m'am."

"It is no trouble, Ms... er... Ok..." He said looking down at the wet spots all over his shins and shoes, but he didn't seem to really care. "I appologise for the..." he pointed at the doorway, and indicated the flames and then the mess. "I'll find a mop," he said, and started looking around with absolutely no clue in which way he should proceed to find such an item in this place...

"No, don't worry about it," Oki said, going to her bag and pulling out a towel. She used it to sop up the mess. "I started carrying one after I started running the courses with my class. We try to work out in the morning, I grab a quick shower over lunch, and we settle in for lecture in the afternoon," she explained.
Kovu slunk to his himself under the desk, and Oki watched him go from the corner of her eye.
"What can I do for you, Fuk?"

Fukurou gave a half smile. "Well, that statement does seem somewhat misplaced as I was the one trying to do something for you m... Ok," he said looking at the empty tea cups and bending to pick them up. At least they'd been styrofoam and hadn't been shattered or anything of the sort. "Perhaps I shall return to the market, and attempt again at a time more conveinient..."

Fukurou looked around, and then decided it wasn't like there would be a lot of people in Oki's office, and so he decided that he would.
"And how is your currious friend whom seems to be hiding himself from the world currently?" Fukurou asked, taking the offered seat and peering under the desk... The real question was, and how is he treating my two feathered friends? but that could wait till later...

"Fukurou, this is Kovu. You might remember his aunt, Mine, from that run with Kurado? Kovu's just a little over excited being away from home and he's working on getting adjusted," Oki said evenly, sitting down again at her desk and peering under at Kovu. The cub flattened himself more against the floor. "He's a bit worried that I'm going to send him home if he doesn't behave himself, and he's been trying. He hasn't bothered Ruu or Kitsi."

Fukurou smiled at the way Oki was able to read his thoughts like that.
"Well hello, Sai-Kovu," Fukurou said with a nod of his head. "A pleasure, I'm sure..."
He leaned over and actually smelled the roses that were on Oki's desk and smiled a little softer and wider at the same time. "It is so nice when people bring aspects of nature into their home or office, but may I humbly suggest a plant, something that will continue to grow and give off much more fresh air than these cut flowers? I know an excellent place where one might make such a purchase..." he said as though he were offering to bring one to Oki should she let him...

Kovu perked up slightly. "Hi!"
"I prefer live plants, really," Oki admitted. "I just worry about having the time to care for them. If I get sent off on an extended mission, that means someone else has to water them or they'll die. These," she said, nodding towards the roses and sounding less than impressed, "I came into this morning."
