Oki turned back around and cast a final glance down at the mission notes Tsunade had given her.
"Do you want to take a look at these, Yuki?" she asked.

Koikihane fanned out his tail feathers to give Rynin more room to lay down, but there really wasn't much else he could do to comfort him...
"I should, yeah," Yuki said... He wasn't sure how to do this without making it awkward, it seemed every possible movement he could make would be awkward. They had to get over it some time though, and he slid back a little closer to Oki so she could pass them forward and point out anything specific she needed to by looking over Yuki's shoulder while he read...

Oki bit down on her lower lip when Yuki slid back into her and handed the notes and the map forward. The map was marked with their destination, and Oki had already penciled in a few other marks on the map. Everything was in there, so she kept quiet while Yuki read.

Rynin stayed where he was making no noise. He seemed a little more pale then before but other then that he just lay there.

Yuki wanted to force them out of the awkward stage before they landed, and he didn't make it easy for Oki to see what he was pointing at by holding it close to his sternum, apparently to make sure it couldn't blow away easily. "This is where you want to start?" he asked, pointing where Oki wouldn't be able to see from where she was. He understood her notes perfectly, but didn't want to be distracted by her when they landed...

Oki pressed herself into Yuki's back, placing a hand on his waist so that she could peer up over his shoulder at the map. "Yeah," she agreed. "That's the village that's hired us. Those other marks on the map are irrelevant, just places I remember from when I was here before. Unless of course we end up redirected once we get there.
"I'm thinking the rats have a nest, or a couple of nests, in and around the fields; they won't want to live too far away from a viable food source. But it's weird that the population would boom all of a sudden and become a problem, so we should probably try to find out if anything's changed recently."

Rynin turned slightly to watch the other two interact.

Yuki squeezed his eyes tight. 'God damnit, why did she do this to him? Why did he let Oki actually affect him this much. He just wanted to hate her, but couldn't.'
"Are you suspecting some one or thing is behind this rather than it just being natural, predators had a bad year, or the rats just had a really good one?" Yuki's finger was running over the map, but it was pointless, he was just trying to make it look like he was looking for clues in the topography... A couple of times, he almost went off the map all together due to his eyes still being shut tight...

"I really have no idea until we get there, it could be any number of things. See how close the village is to this water way?" she asked, reaching over his shoulder to point to the map. "The runs right out to the coast, and there's a trading village not far from there. It could just be that a new species of rat came in on a cargo ship, traveled up river and thrived there.
"I think that if we can take out the nest, or the nests, we'd be taking care of the biggest part of the problem. If they've got nowhere to go, they won't stick around even if there is plenty of food. But that's just making it someone else's problem so we'll need to get as many rats as we can so that they're down to a manageable level for the locals again."

"So you are planning a slaughter?" Rynin asked turning his head away from them again.

She was slaughtering Yuki by how close they were to each other. And she didn't care at all. She had Baoh, she made her choice, and this was just a mission. There was nothing to the touch, just, nesecary given the seating arrangements right now... But it still felt like an electric current to Yuki and he just wanted to move away again... Quickly...

Oki slid back away from Yuki, turning to face Rynin. "It's the fastest way to get rid of the rats, Rynin. Water Country's economy is based on trade, and they need their crops. What else can we do? It's not like we can herd rats and send them somewhere that they'll cause fewer problems. If there's that many of them, they'd be a problem anywhere."

"I was not questioning your decison." Rynin told her. "I was confirming your corse of action." He said watching her. He didn't just look at people. He seemed to be looking at them like he was always trying to figure people out.

Yuki breathed a little easier when Oki moved away and he opened his eyes to actually give the instructions one more quick look-over. When Oki returned her attention forward, he would hand them back to her...
