Chiyo had found an excuse to leave the okiya today. She was bored of merely wandering around from chore to chore with not even so much as a flicker of hope in her heart. She had heard tell of a waterfall. Water was her element and the closer she was to it, the closer she was to who she hoped to be. Perhaps by the waterfall she could practice her skills with no intrusion... She entered the area where the waterfall was rumored to be. She could almost feel the spray on her face and touch the rainbow she knew would appear. She could hear the rushing of the currents and of the fall as it swept down from the heights. Then she heard something else...

There was Takara singing softly to herself and dancing on top of the water in the middle of the rainbow, of course she couldn't see the rainbow from where she was, but it was there all the same.

A muffled sound from the surrounding trees made Chiyo stop where she was. It was difficult to hear much above the roaring rapids but it certainly didn't sound human. Chiyo held her breath and listened. The noise stopped. Chiyo shrugged, and wandered closer to the water, resting her fans gently on her shoulders. Slowly unravelling her obi and shrugging off her kimono, she gracefully stepped into the mist of the falls.

Takara stopped in the middle of her song looking toward the trees. She didn't see anything and shook herself and continued her dance but she kept one eye on the bank.

Well bless me bones, Oi never 'tought Oi'd get the pleasure of gracin' the presence of not just one but TWO loverly water sprites, g'day to ye!"

Chiyo leaned back in the water, looking to the sky...but what she saw gave her even more of a shock than any creature of the woods! There was a girl dancing above her head! Chiyo cried out and began to pull her things close to her, but stopped. There was something familiar about the way this girl looked...She reminded Chiyo of her Satsu. They'd been apart for 6 years, but it couldn't really be true. She had no one left, and it was just a daydream taht she would find her sister again. Though Chiyo had to admit that this girl was in fact a beautiful dancer. Perhaps she was an apprentice! Oh sweet fortune!

Again, Chiyo shrieked! A young man had surfaced close by her. Grabbing her fan, Chiyo opened it, ready to defend herself.

Seeing that the young man and woman seemed friendly enough, Chiyo refolded her fan, and summoning as much grace as she could, she eased up from teh water and bowed low. "I am Chiyo. A humble maid of the Nitta Okiya. My apologies for my reaction. I am unaccustomed to company."

Treading water with his feet and averting his eyes from Chiyo, Kei puts his hands up before him defensively; 'Ey 'ey now, Oi'm not 'ere ter cause ye any trouble, jest out ter share a friendly swim marm!. Giving Takara a full-faced smile, he responds to her; "Oi'm Kei "The Key" Pang 'dey call me. Are ye a kindred travellin' one yerself?!"

"please forgive me...there is no need to look away. I promise you won't turn into stone. You just gave me a fright." Chiyo extended her hand to Kei hoping she hadn't, yet again made a terrible blunder.

(Okay, does no one know about posting order?)
"Oi do beg yer pardon, I would be from the Red Island, but me cook from there happened to be from the Tea Country, and as she was a koind and bonny lass and I 'appen'd to spend a wee bit o' time wit her I 'appened to catch the accent. Just a we bit o'course." she explained with a smile.
"I do beg your pardon if you're insulted, I don't mean to, it's an automatic thing for to pick up other's accents," she said forcibly returing to her own accent.

"NOT ET ALL!" Bellows Kei with delight. "Et's wunnerful ter see someone else who's got the hang o' the gypsy tongue." To Chiyo; "phew, Oi 'ave to admit et was pretty hard 'aving ter look away from that be'utiful face, pleasure ter make yer aquaintance!" Says Kei as he takes Chiyo's profferred hand lifting himself out of the water, wet breeches sticking to his waist and water running down his bare chest.

Chiyo blushes, trying not to stare at Kei as he surfaces. I'm no traveller, but it must be quite a life. Such freedom. Such an opportunity to follow your whims. If only I could. *Lifts eyes shyly to look at Kei's face, then quickly looks away.*

"Hi down there, are you actually from around here?" she asked Chiyo looking down at her. She crouched down so she was at the same level as they were, almost.
