BIt was easy to hear Blink had a huge mess in all his pockets but he seemed to know his wa around it and pulled out a small strapless wristhingych, stopped. "it's broken, I think I landed on it or something but the point is, whether it works or not, times going to continue on. It's just interesting, I don't think many people think about how important it is."

Deciding to play devil's advocate, if for no other reason then to speed up their journey by keeping them ingaged in the conversation, Yuki said; "Well... Ok, but, isn't time just a human convention? An arbitrary set of markers we use in order to advocate our rule over society? Is it really that nesesary?"

This obviously sparked Blink's excitment, "No, you're just thinking of time as the general public mark it, that's just counting and dates, the flat one dimension of time. What about when it wasn't marked on paper or kept in a pockethingych?" he turned the device over and slid over a small latch, poking and churning the inner gears while he spoke, "There's inner time and outer time and time relative to others." It coulld have been that Blink was speaking nonsense, but he spoke confidently enough that if questioned, he'd have an answer.

For once, Yuki took off his sunglasses. His eyes were closed but his eyebrows raised until they raised far enough to pull his eye lids open... He wasn't getting it...
"So... Time exists... Without, and beyond time itself?" Yuki tried to comprehend this by trying to relate it somehow to the veil, but found that he could not...

"Em!" Blink nodded then noticed Yuki wasn't following his dispatched sense of reasoning. "Let me try and put it a different way." he said and refocused on the clock. "Time relative for some and not for others is evident in many ways, like lifespans for one example. Or in a way we can't see...how do I put it, some creatures can connect to places of a different time almost naturally.' He looked back to Yuki.

"Like..." Yuki strained, trying to grasp this. Sure, he could understand disasociative physics, but quantum... he wasn't having so much luck with... "Like the birds flying South in the winter?" he asked, thinking he was way undershooting Blink's meaning...

"Well that's more of an outer time pull...hm." he thought again, "Oh, do you feel connected to something else when your in the veil, a person, place or thing?"

Yuki shook his head. "It's kind of the exact opposite. The whole lack of being attached to things. Being able to move freely without constriction..." A light went on in Yuki's head. "Is that the way you are with this whole time thing? To be able to freely move through it?"

Blink nodded excitedly, "Yes! You may be surprised to know that others things may have an understanding of that place, like when I speed up, hummingbirds become oddly curious about me."

Yuki gave a brief spinal shiver, but laughed lightly all the same. "Cats can still see me when I cross over..." Although his girlfriend had several cats living with her, Yuki still hated the pesky little four-legged fuzzballs....

"Cats huh? So they have a visual connection with you in that place." Blink smiled, "So even if you only keep track of it, time has outer, expandng capabilities. It's infinite." he said.

Yuki shook his head. "Now I know what people feel like when I bring them across for the first time," he said with a little laugh. "It's like sensory overload... you just can't initially except it all..."
Yuki looked off in the distance. He was right, there conversation was certainly shortening their trip. Ahead of them in visual distance was the boarder with the Earth Country. It would only be a short distance inside of this mostly desolate landscape until they found the town that had hired them...

"It's a tough concept...took forever for me to get a hold of it...I bet my teachers were frusterated with me...at least I assume." he frowned, he felt like he was understanding himself better and pieces would slowly click back.
When they arrived Blink glanced around to see if there was a clock around in obvious need of repair.

Yuki gave his back a quick stretch as he looked around. Although it was only a small town, and there were no signs of Rock Nins around, the sight of Blink and Yuki wearing the respective Leave and Sand forehead protectors did not seem to raise any eyebrows, nor did anyone approach them...
Surely enough, in the center of the town, was the town hall, and at the top of it was a large clock that had to be at least 20 feet across. It wasn't just, not moving, but giving minute stirs where it tried to move, but failed, as if it were a modern watch with an almost dead battery...

Blink stared up at it then around the town, "Shouldnt we talk to someone first? This seems strange." he asked, already walking off in search of someone ijn charge of the area.
