Oki was taking it slow, doing her best to avoid dry branches or anything else that would make noise so Kurado would have an easy time to catching them up. She was listening intently, and as they drew closer to where the sound had originated from, more noise could be heard: a sniffled struggling and snarling was coming from a clearing just beyond the trees and something large and white could just be glimpsed in the weak morning sunlight.

Fukurou was glancing around Oki, trying to get a better look without going off of her tracks or making any noise. The white was throwing him off, but from the sounds, he was sure he already knew what lay ahead, and his fingers were near formed into a hand seal already... He grew up in this forest, and he knew what kind of dangers were in it...

Kurado showed up alittle ways behind the two as he slowly walked up. Soundlessly approaching as he tried to see past them to what they were getting closer to. His ears twitched as he heard the beast stir but what kind of animal were they all getting closer to?

Oki finally reached the edge of the trees and stopped with a soft “Oh!” of surprise.
Approximately forty yards into the clearing a large snow leopard struggled against a steel trap, it’s forepaw caught in the jaws. The glinted off the gold bangles on its tail as it lashed furiously, and off the bangle on its hind leg and the ring in its ears. At Oki’s gasp, it swung its head around to glare with frightened green eyes, and it bared its teeth as it roared again, crouching down away from them.
“The poor thing,” Oki murmured, taking a few hesitant steps into the clearing.

Fukurou put his hand on Oki's shoulders, seeing her intentions to free the animal from it's steel prison. "Standing tall is a challenge, crawling means you want to play. Croach a little, but not too far, and don't hold your hand out like smelling you will change it's mind on whether you're friend or foe. It smells you already, your hand is just another challenge..."
He reached into his coat, and handed Oki a small brown paper bag. Most of the contents were small bite-size bits of cheese, but there were also a few strings of jerky inside as well...

Kurado looked over the two of them as he let out a heavy sigh. "Guess we have to save the fuzzy that would rather eat our faces than say thank you. I don't suppose anyone got some nice tranqulizrs on them to make this a whole lot easier?" He looked between the two of them but he already knew the answer to this.

Oki took the bag from Fukurou and nodded to indicate that she understood. She then looked back at Kurado.
"It's scared, Kuro, and I can't imagine that trap tickles. If you two both wanted to get out of the way and up into the trees, I'd understand. I don't think it would come after either of you unless its really spoiling for a fight."
She then squatted down, pulling out some of the jerky and tearing off a small hunk of it. She began to inch towards the leopard, making sure to keep as small as possible.
"Easy, sweetheart," she said soothingly. "No one's going to hurt you. I just want to help get you out."
The leopard cocked its head to the side, as though listening, and seemed to relax. It watched Oki's approach warily, and it's tail continued to twitch and lash violently, but it no longer snarled.

"As a matter of fact... Yes," Fukurou answered after Oki had already started walking forwards, but didn't even so much as flinch towards retrieving whatever he had in the way of a tranq...
"She's doing quite well on her own I think..." He also didn't take Oki's advice and make for the treeline either...

"Well just in case..." Kurado steped back as he lowered his body a bit as if he was building up an attack. If everything went well he won't have to move, other wise he was set to stop a paw from coming after them.

She was almost close enough to touch it, and a part of her wanted nothing more than to reach out and run her fingers through the long, thick fur. She checked the impulse and instead tossed the piece of jerky lightly so that it landed just in front of the leopard. It sniffed it with disinterest and turned its attention back to Oki, who made a point of not meeting its eyes.
"now just relax," Oki continued to soothe. "I'm going to get this trap open, but it's probably going to hurt. Please don't try to take my face off."
She reached out slowly for the trap. As she began to apply steady, firm pressure, the leopard gave a startled snarl and flinched, and Oki stopped moving until the animal had settled before she continued to release the trap. The large paw was withdrawn once the trap was open, but the leopard itself did not move. Acting on an impulse, Oki began to rip strips from her long t-shirt and wrap them around the freely bleeding wound, tying them securely but not uncomfortably. She then slowly began to back away.
"Thank you," a female voice purred.

Fukurou's eyes widened, and then narrowed. He had heard of ninja animals that inhabitted the area around hidden villages sometimes - but this was his first glimpse of seeing one. Of course it was one. Not only did it speak - but other wise, why would a snow lepord be in such a climate. This was a meeting not worth disturbing - though he longed to speak as well...

"Wait wait wait..." Kuardo stood up and was about to ask a question when he shoked his head. "Never mind some questions are better left unasked." He commented as he wasn't too comferable with this snow kitty just yet. Just cause it talked doesn't mean it won't act like a normal one... well what ever is normal in this case.

Oki's head snapped up and she made eye contact with the leopard for the first time. Intelligent green eyes stared back at her calmly, and the jangles clanked together softly as the leopard brought her tail around to curl over her paws.
"You may well have saved my life, child. What is your name?"
"O-Oki. Ituska Oki," she stammered.
"Well, Istuka Oki, I am Mine and it appears that I owe you a boon. Would you accept a contract for my services?"
Oki continued to gape, and turned a stunned glance back to Fukurou and Kurado seeking guidance.

Fukurou, just opposite them on the other side of the tree line was smiling at Oki and the leopord and closed his eyes and gave one nod. He didn't know how a summons worked, or really what it did - after all, Kitsi and Ruu were not ninja animals per se, nor were they summons, but he understood the benifits of such a contract all the same...

"Just check the fine print before you sign other wise I see no problems." Kurado tilted his head to one side as he saw summons before but never the actual contract signing of one.
