"So how's Baoh?" Akira asked in a bitter tone. The question seemed very out of the blue.

Otomeken looked up at Akira quickly, shocked, but then - more slowly- returned her attention to the cooking. "Haven't seen him in a long time," Otomeken said a little meloncholy, thought she had tried to keep it out of her voice. "I've been spending most of my time teaching and... Well, I suppose he's on missions... I think..."

Otomeken looked at Akira quizically and opened her mouth, then shut it again, returning her attention to now serving the suppers. "I was going to say I didn't know... But I suppose if I did love him, I'd know it, wouldn't I?" she said rhetorically, handing Akira her plate...

Akira liked this answer. She didn't want Otomeken's feelings for her to get outweighted for feelings for another. "Thanks." She said taking the plate. Another first. Akira saying thanks.

Otomeken half smiled, wondering what was going through Akira's head... actually asking about Baoh... She lifted her own food, and then sat down on her bed next to Akira to begin to eat. Out of the blue almost, she asked, "think I'd make a good 'special needs' teacher for this village?"

"That's where my choices come in," Otomeken said, that factor already heavily on her mind. "Tsunade-sama offered me a special needs class, since I've been working with the other blind students anyway... And I could stay here and do that... Or... Go home..."

Otomeken still hadn't touched her food at all, and slowly stired her chopsticks through it. "Is that what's best for me? Best for the village? Best for... My friends? What? Cause... I don't think it is that easy Akira..."

"Why is it best for you?" Otomeken inquired, thinking Akira just did that because of who she was talking to, not because she didn't actually want to be heard. "You still want me around that much?"

Otomeken actually smirked. "Not actually." Otomeken stired her food a bit more but didn't touch it otherwise. "Would you come with me?" she finally asked outright, still trying to figure out what Akira had been eluding to earlier...

Akira dropped her chopsticks at this. "What? How can you ask me such a thing." She snapped as if it was a horrible idea even though she had mentioned it herself earlier.
