Kaliri walked quickly down the hallway, glancing from side to side to make sure there were no other people crowding the way between her and her destination. With a few of her memories still intact, she thought she might be able to manage enough to get into the caverns even if she couldn't find the entrance near Rachi's old place.
She had asked Lenore to meet her here, and was happy when the older girl had accepted. There was no one around anymore that she trusted, unless it was trusting them to snap, lash out, or botch something important.
She kept up the fast pace, her heart racing. her right hand gripped her left arm almost painfully, but she was beyond caring now.

Lenore traveled along in Kaliri's wake, scanning more thoroughly and - at least she thought it likely - seeing more than the younger girl.
"Are you sure you can make it in from here? You don't even remember how to use your jutsu, and it's not like I'm exactly in a position to blast through with mine, here."
Lenore eyed the tiny falcon that was Kaliri's constant companion, and briefly wondered if there was something more to it than met the eye. Surely this thing wouldn't be able to open the way for them.... would it?

*Screeeeeeeee!*
Another bird of prey dove from the sky, inches in front of Kaliri's. The difference being, this bird of prey was a hawk, and wearing a Konoha forehead protector... as well as carying a piece of raw meat that it had just caught in it's talons. The screetch wasn't a threat, mearly a warning that the prize was the hawk's.
Where did it come from? Yuki was throwing them as fast and far as he could, training with Ikihane. Yuki was standing atop a nearby building and tossed it before he seen any of the others run into the way...

Kaliri hissed through clenched teeth, crouching low and holding yet tighter to her left arm. She used that same arm to dig into her belt, coming up with a kunai and holding it before her. As she saw the hawk swoop by, Kirei fidgeted on Kaliri's shoulder, ruffling her feathers and screeching back feebly in fright. Kaliri watched the hawk dive by, then looked to Lenore, seeing if she had any input to help.

Lenore tossed a shrug towards Kaliri, her own kunai in her hands. She scanned the flightpath of the hawk, and s she did, she noticed a figure on a rooftop. With a smile, she stood from her own stance and slipped the kunai back into her pouch. She hailed the figure on the roof with a silent gesture, her hand flashing in a sign of recognition in her native dialect.
"No fear" She told Kaliri "This is a friend." She placed a hand on Kaliri's shoulder, urging her to stand and relax.

Yuki dissappeared, and then reappeared on the ground a few seconds later walking up towards them. He held out his hand and the hawk perched on his leather glove and began to eat the meaty prize it had caught...
"Sorry... He was slow catching that one... but that is the point of the training, for it not to be easy...

Kaliri eyed the large hawk warily, slipping her kunai back into her belt with a quick glance at Lenore. She took up a place partially behind the taller girl's shoulder, and ran her fingers down the breast of her own companion, soothing and smoothing the ruffled feathers as Kirei shuffled uneasily.
She took a moment to look over Yuki, but from the limits of her memory, she couldn't recall him. She might have met him in one of the brief missing patches, but she doubted it. She could not see if there was any familiarity in his eyes, and that made her a little uneasy, but besides the friend between them, she'd rarely known people who could actually look at her, and she could see their eyes. Masks, glasses, blindness... this lack of ocular information was starting to get on her nerves. She decided it was better to keep quiet and let Lenore do the talking.

Lenore smiled at Yuki, pleased to see he was looking much better than the last time she had seen him. he seemed to be speaking alright, which hadn't been the case last time. She held her hand out and flashed a few signs towards him.
~Health. Happiness.~ An antiquated greeting for her people.
"Glad to see you look so well, Yuki-san. You remember my speaking of Kaliri?" She gestured to her side, then looked over her shoulder, realizing Kaliri was behind her. She sighed slightly, then turned to the young girl.
"It's fine, I told you. Yuki is a friend. There is nothing to fear here."

"I remember," Yuki said, giving a 'very' slight bow. "Kazeitami Yuki," he said to the girl. On first glance, he was anything but impressed with the timmid child. He didn't like people who backed away from him as though he was a viper poised to strike - unless of course, he was...

Kaliri eyed Yuki up and down, still not convinced of his status at ally. Her right hand rubbed at her left arm as she looked away, eager to get into the shadows of the academy halls. They'd done so well avoiding eyes so far.
She nodded curtly towards Yuki, stressed nerves and complete disinterest in the individual not enough to make her forget all her manners. "Okanei Kaliri, pleased to meet you...." She trailed off, not sure what else to offer.

Lenore frowned down at Kaliri, blinking in surprise. This was far from the introductions the old Kaliri would have given, but she could sense her friend's desire to be in out of the street. She understood, and yet, still.... she gazed at her, thoughtful and concerned.
After a moment, she turned an apologetic look to Yuki. Pushing her worries aside, she smiled. "Why do that here, instead of up a tree somewhere? Surely the great Yuki isn't deterred by mere branches?" She grinned, making up for the rudeness of her ally by making light of the conversation, trying to keep it casual.

Yuki disliked the respect that Kaliri afforded him, but he supposed with no symbol of appointment, it was justified enough. Lenore however, made him crack a smile. "Branches are for an entirely different type of hawking. I save that sort of fun for when I train with the entire murder.
"What has you two in such a hurry anyway?"

Kaliri shot a furious, white-hot glance at Lenore, then turned to Yuki, eyes still smoldering.
"We're... on our way to check on some things. just... training, is all." She said, glancing back over her shoulder towards the academy buildings. She was clearly nervous, rubbing her arm and keeping her eyes on a constant scan of the area. She backed up a few steps, coming out from behind Lenore, but still angled away from Yuki.

Lenore did nothing to try to hide her surprise from Kaliri. She hadn't realized the depth of the change in her till she saw her trying to interact with other people. Lenore wondered vaguely if the return of her memories would bring the identity of the one who had betrayed her. She said she couldn't remember, but she knew that it was a foe acting as a friend.
She frowned at the ground, then wiped her face clear. Looking back up to Yuki, her face was blank, emotionless as she spoke, but it was not Yuki she addressed, though it was his gaze she fancied she held.
"Kaliri, enough. Shame. I trust him, that should be enough for you. Stop being so hostile." Though her face was clear of emotional impediment, her voice was thick with scorn for the girl.

"Don't be so conceited as to think that I'm foolish enough to buy a load of horseshit. Next time you don't want to tell me something, tell me that you don't want to tell me, don't try to feed me a load of crap. People have their secrets and the right to keep them, but I don't have time for liars." It looked like Yuki was also facing back to Lenore, but with the dark glasses, it was impossible to tell...
