Hi ya there. Sit down as I shall help those that wish to know more about role play etiquette.
Now before we have tea and crumpets, upom request from a few poeple that pm me I decided to put up some more help. Once more these are not rules and things that will not be enforced by me or others. By following these suggestions you will be less of an annoyance to others that rp with you and make the whole experience more enjoyable.
Now the first request was about role playing in general really. I shall explain better with an example.. I like examples
Ex1: Bob: Yo hey Joe how are you today? I'm going to the market would you like to come and help me buy some ingredents for a cake I'm baking for my grandmother's 100th birthday which is later tonight and would like you to come and help celebrate too?
Joe: K
Now who saw the problem here? ~Oki Raises her hand~ Thanks Oki. Now anyone else besides Oki see the problem? ~watches a few more hands go up~ Ok good. I shall explain for the rest.
Problem one was run on questions. We have too many questions at one time. These questions could be cut up into 2 or 3 posts. This could help the other person reply with maybe a no and you don't have to worry about the rest of the questions really. It also allows you to both draw out roleplay and requires the other person to take a more active role, possibly by asking you for more information.
Now problem two is what Joe did. He simply only reacted and did nothing to add to it. Now everyone is guilty of this every now and again. I know myself I am very guilty of this alot so if you do this don't worry about it but please try to add on to the story sooner or later to help make it more fun. Like Joe there could have answered all three questions one after another. He could have replied with how Joe felt about going to the party to someone he didn't know or say he still had something to do later.
Now another request for more help was about poeple joining threads. There is a rule about the 2 page rule which seems to get ignored for some.
4. Do not jump into threads longer than 2 pages without the premission of the author of the thread you wish to join nikita421.proboards38.com/index.cgi?board=rules&action=display&thread=1116826019
Now some people don't care and some really do care. In most cases pm the person who has jumped in and ask them to leave, explaining that the thread was set up to perhaps further a specific story line, or for a particular character. You can then ask the a member of the Admin to delete that person from the thread.
If for some reason they wish to stay and you still don't want them there you can ignore or start a new one to be alone in. Now these are not really good suggestions to do, so I highly suggest the pm's first.
Now this part is directed at the poeple who jump into threads at times. This is short and some what sweet so here we go. If you're joining a thread only join if your going to add to the story. If your merely going to stand around and just watch people and add nothing to the story or do anything at all there is no reason to be there that slows down rping.
If you still wish to be in threads that are posting quickly and your gonna be gone for even a day or two, post yourself out or simply say you can use me as a npc for the time being.
