Kakashi had been running himself too thin lately, doing all of the S-rank missions for the Hokage. And so, she had suggested that he take a day off and teach a class, he could resume his missions the next day.
And so, Kakashi stood in a clearing awaiting students who wished to learn how do do the shadow-replacement technique, kiwarimi...

Obviously way too impressed with his new skill, Fukurou leaned down over the sensai upside down from a nearby tree branch. "What are you reading?" He asked, more to announce his presense for the class than anything...

He had heard that there was going to be a class on shadow-replacement...what was it called again...oh yes Kiwarimi. He had been excited when he had found that out, and was determined to learn this technique.
He had a bit of trouble finding the place where the class was but soon found himself moving into a clearing, his ears picking up the familiar voice of a boy who had been in a few of his classes already and the muffled breathing of someone else.
"Hello"
He said in a gentle, yet strong tone that made it ways over to Kakashi and Fukurou.

Kakashi smiled and with a puff of smoke he was actually standing behind Keagan back a few paces. In his place was nothing more than a piece of firewood. "Oh, I see I will have a challenge today," Kakashi said walking up beside Keagan. "If I hear correctly from Iruka, you have similar qualities to Otomeken, and she is teaching you how to use them for ninjitsu." Kakashi sounded very pleased by this.
"And for your information young mr. Fukurou, you are still too young to know what I'm reading," he said closing his eyes and rubbing the back of his head with a smile beneath his mask.
"Now then, do I need to relate the basic principles of the kiwarimi jutsu to you both, or have you learned that in regular class yet?" he asked each of them...

His ears picked up the sound of Kakashi behind him and he quickly turned around, his bright blue-grey eyes narrowed in confusion, yet curiosity played within those depths as well. He 'watched' the other walk up to him, until the different sounds around him made his eyes dart left and right up and down. Yet he was totally focused on Kakashi. He noticed the pleased sound in the older man's voice.
"Yes, Otomeken is teaching me to see...or well use colour in another jutsu at the moment"
He didn't understand what that had to do anything, but if it pleased his teacher for this class then he was happy.
"Umm, I think I might need some help with this one...Umm..?"
He trailed off, not know the sensei's name, plus he felt a bit embarrassed about not knowing anything about this technique.

"Gomenasai, Kakai-sensai," Fukurou said, walking over towards them again. "I know what the jutsu is, but not how it works, actually," he said awaiting instruction...

Kakashi rubbed the back of his head. It had been a while since he had had to explain the actual technique of a jutsu. "Ok...When a kiwarimi is used, a subject is chosen. This subject can be anything that can be easily concealed in a henge no-jutsu; ie; a log, a weapon, another person, even a monkey as Neji, Tenten, and Kakashi have proven...
The subject goes through 'shadow substitution.' This is a supernatural ability that causes the jutsu user and the subject to 'shadow jump' with each other, switching places instantly, and without physical movement. At the same time, both the user, and the subject are henged to look as the other.
The problem with this jutsu is that it can not be done in responce to an attack, it must be a preparred action (the jutsu user must do this jutsu, anticipating an attack, not in responce to it.)
Depending on the level of the ninja using Kiwarimi, the weight, and distance of the jutsu can be increased. Having said that, a student should only be able to effectively kiwarimi by themselves, and at a distance of roughly 50 feet or less.
Remember, if you kiwarimi with a log, the henge'd log is still just a log and it can't move or act... It is a static illusion of you, at least until a much higher level...
Does that suffice?" Kakashi asked, hoping he wouldn't have to go into any further detail...

He narrowed his eyes in concentration for a moment as he tried to absorb the information that Kakashi had just gave out. It was still a bit confusing but he got the jist of it.
"...So its almost like a clone...only the clone doesn't move and is a log...or whatever we choose to use...right?"
He gave Kakashi a somewhat confused look.

"Right, unless we use a living thing to kiwarimi with is it?" Fukurou asked, chiming in his own two cents, already thinking he may be able to kiwarimi with Ruu or Kitsi if the situation called for it... Or vice versa, since Ruu seemed to be learning all the jutsus as well...

Kakashi nodded to both of them. "I'm sorry Fukurou, but I am quite sure that Keagan-chan will pick up this jutsu sooner than you do. This was why I was pleased he had been training under Otomeken. You see, a genjutsu fools the eyes, not the ears. If Otomeken's been teaching you, you will listen to how this jutsu works, and won't have the illusion aspect of it to confuse you. Now watch. Fukurou, count to three, and then attack me with a shuirken..."
Kakashi threw a shuirken at Fukurou's feet for him to use, and when he would bend to pick it up, Kakashi used the distraction to perform the jutsu. It still looked as if he were standing right there and waiting for the attack in a ready stance, but to Keagan's ears, he would know that it was really nothing more than the same log that Kakashi had used earlier and than their sensai was really now standing almost 100 feet away and just watching...

He blinked for a moment and blushed at the name, no one ever called him that, not even Mana-san. He was also proud that Kakashi thought he would pick up the jutsu faster, he only hoped that he could. As Kakashi spoke of the genjutsu, he knew it was right, he to was also learning genjutsu on the side, but since he was teaching him self, and from a book no less he hadn't gotten very far.
As Kakashi told Fukurou to attack him, he picked up the sound of the shuriken flying thru the air before hitting the ground, he also heard the other boy bend over, but there was something else there, something very faint and swift. Turning his head to the right a bit, his eyes moved in that direction until they landed on the the tree next to Kakashi. If he wasn't blind and didn't have heightened hearing he would have just believed that the Kakashi, that was now a log, was the real thing.

As she ran up the path, she stumbled, sending her bag flying. Kaliri nursed her injured knee, and hurried to grab everything. She came over a crest of the slight hill, and ran up beside Kakashi, and the other two boys. She was out of breath when she arrived, and lened over on her knees when she got there, putting her hand out to Kakashi to help steady herself as she trembled. "Gomen" She panted. "I-... I got lost." Her hand was roughly a half foot from the kiwarimi's arm.

Fukurou had already loosed the shuirken when Kaliri reached out and so it was too late to do anything about it. He watched in wide wonder as the Kakashi he attacked didn't react to the ninja star at all, and even more so, when with a poof of smoke, it was really a log. "The... The tossing the star to me... That was your diversion to use the technique!" he said, thinking he understood...

Kakashi smiled and walked back up towards them. "I see that you saw how that worked," he said to Keagan. "As for you Kaliri, I'm not going to repeat my instructions, just try to follow along as best you can, and be on time next time."
Kakashi walked up in front of them and flipped open his book as he crouched down in front of a tree. In his other hand he picked up three shuirken. "I would start trying that jutsu if I were you," he said, preparing to throw one at each of them, even without looking...

He flashed Kakashi a heart warming smiled and nodded his head, well he didn't actually see how it worked but he did hear it. He turned his attention to Kaliri for a moment and hopped that she would understand what they were doing. His attention went back to Kakashi as he heard the man move to his left, the sound of a book being opened, and the sound of his voice following.
The faint sound of the Shuriken hitting each other as they where picked up made Keagan tense a bit, and by the sound of it, he didn't have very much time to make do the jutsu, oh well the worst he was going to get was a few cuts from the shuriken, nothing that he can't handle. Taking a breath he focused his chakra started the jutsu.
