Just as Akira felt like she couldn't hang on anymore there heads broke the surface of the water. They were out of danger of drowning but Akira didn't have the strength left to pull them the rest of the way out and it was only a matter of time before the water ripped them from the rock and they were sent back under the surface.

Cirrus gasped in air, clinging to Akira tightly despite his limbs feeling like jelly.
"We need a plan," he said, his entire body hurting.

Kumori having seen the two exit the village had opted to follow them at a distance. He heard their screams as they went over the side of the cliff. He moved as fast as he could to the edge, and saw them hit the water. Looking quickly he found a path he could use to reach the bottom. He had reached the bottom of the cliff just as they where able to reach the surface of the water. "Hold on!" he yelled, but his voice was drowned out by the roar of the waterfall.

Akira didn't see Kumroi nor did she hear him. She couldn't hang on anymore.
I'm sorry.
She said as her arms let go of the rock and the water took hold of them again.

Cirrus clung to Akira as his only support.
"Just don't let go of me," Cirrus said, trying to force some form of energy out but failing.

"Damn it!" Kumori said to himself as he started running down the shore after them. He pulled out a rope, while he ran. He tied a lasso knot in the rope. "Try to swim toward the shore!" he yelled, hoping they would be able to hear him now that he was moving away from the falls.

Cirrus heard Kumori shout and looked over, relief flooding over his features. He tightened his grip on Akira and forced himself to kick over to the shore and rope. His leg muscles screamed in pain and they both kept getting submerged as he made his way over, but seeing Akira so weak and exhausted pushed Cirrus to try harder for the two of them. He flailed his arm out, grabbing onto the noose with one hand while holding Akira closely against him with his other arm. He prayed he could maintain grip. The water was thankfully calming down as they were farther from the falls.

They where still being pulled along by the current, but Kumori still hhad some slack. Quickly running around a tree, to brace the rope. He started to walk down the bank slowly pulling them toward the shore. "Hold on, your almost out!" he yelled, as he strained to pull them out.

This was not exactly what Akira had planed as her first allowed trip out of the village. She hated having to be saved but her body wouldn't move and her head was limp on her shoulders. She had water in her lungs and she wasn't breathing.

Cirrus could no longer feel the rise and fall of Akira's chest.
"Hurry Kumori!" he called out, getting a mouthful of water half way and spitting it out.

Kumori started moving faster pulling them in as quickly as he could. He would not accept the chance that he would loose one of his teammates.

they'd have to hurry. If Akira didn't get air into soon she may never come back.

Cirrus tried to push Akira onto shore when he got close to the bank while still gripping onto the rope so that he wouldn't get swept away by the current.

Kumori kept pulling on the rope till they were both safly on the shore and out of the water. Thendropping the rope, she saw that Akira was not breathing. Looking at Cirrus he saw that he was in no condition to try to revive her. Kumori leaned in to breath into her mouth...
