There were too many people nearly everywhere in the village. Even the top of the Kage mountain seemed too crowded for Yuki at the moment, and so, instead, he walked back and forth, paceing up and down the virtical side of the mountain, looking ready to completely tear out his hair...

Suoh stretched, looking down at the village from the top of the Kage mountain. He had never been to Konoha before, although he'd heard a great deal about it. From up here he couldn't see what all of the fuss was about, to be honest: it was just a little village, but the mountain was impressive. He looked down, his hair falling down into his face, and spotted a man pacing along the mountain's face. He smiled crookedly.
"Trying to beat the crowd, chief?"

Yuki stopped and looked forward, rather than down, which, according to gravity, meant he was now looking up. He was already bordering on a migraine as it was, and so this unexpected conversation. "Chief?" was all he managed, squinting behind his dark glasses to try and figure out who it was that was speaking to him...

"You want me to call you something else?" Suoh replied, still smirking. "So's the view any better from there, or do you actually have a reason to be there?"

Yuki didn't reply instantly. He jumped up, and landed off to the side of the other man a little ways and turned to face him. "I have reasons not to be elsewhere..." he said a little cryptically. He scanned the other for anything that could give him any information what-so-ever. A crest, a forehead protector, anything - he wasn't going to give out information so freely to someone he knew nothing about...

Suoh's appearance didn't give much away; he was 5'8" with a very slight build. There was a backpack at his feet and a case that looked like it might contain an acoustic, but nothing that would hint at where he came from. He seemed nonplussed by the jump and casually turned around, his elbows resting against the railing as he regarded Yuki with the same crooked smile.
"Nice to see you this side of gravity, chief. I was scared I was going to get a crick in my neck with you down there."

"Yuki," Yuki said. "Not chief..." He knew better than to give his family name out freely. "And rather than call you Sargent, I'm sure you have a name?" he asked, growing more curious than was expressly good for him...

Suoh laughed. "Well, Yuki, I answer to just about anything, but Suoh's good enough for now. So, what's crawled up your ass?"

Yuki hated it. He liked the guy already... A smile cracked on his face. "You've got brass balls, Suoh. I assume you're new to the area?"

Suoh grinned. "Yup! Figured I'd do some traveling and ended up here. And you must be one of the locals, am I right?"

Yuki glanced down at his forehead protector that rested on his belt. "Sort of," he said. "I live here at any rate. So... You're just traveling? You're not a ninja, you're not trying to hire one... Just... Sight seeing?" It seemed odd how someone would end up in a hidden village with no express purpose...

Suoh put up his hands. "Whoa, boss, who said anything about not being a ninja? I can be one and still travel for the sake of it, can't I?"

Yuki skeptically folded his arms across his chest. "No forehead protector - means you haven't achieved genin status with any village. No genin status, means no traveling. So, either you're not a ninja, you've recieved no 'formal' training, or you're on the run..."

Suoh reached into his bag and pulled out a forehead protector with a star symbol on it, tossing it to Yuki for further inspection.
"Three strikes and you're out, Yuki. I am genin, and I'm not on the run. But I'm also not raveling for "official" reasons, so I wanted to keep a low profile. So what's your story? What's a Sand nin doing this far from home?"

Yuki looked it over. He had only seen this symbol once before, and it raised even more questions... but he could be wrong. He'd save that line of questioning for later. "The Sand went to hell when Kazekage was killed," he said leaving 99.9% of the story out of this short rendition. "I got out while the getting was good. Landed here. Been here for years." He tossed the forehead protector back to the blonde. "Now... Whether it's true or not, you're at least going to tell me you presented your papers at the entrance to the village, and I'm going to believe you so we can skip all the boring stuff... Right?"
