"I'm fine, Fukurou. I just expect that I'll have to have a few words with my brother the next time I see him..."

"It seems that my words too often cause confrontation," he said, sounding very dissapointed in himself, returning to the dishes...

"This isn't your fault, Fukurou. I can't say your motives were the best, but that doesn't excuse Suoh or Yuki for meddling. Yuki's supposed to be minding his own damn business and I'd have expected better from my brother."

Fukurou raised an eyebrow turning back to her. "Ms. Oki... If he has already related the information to you, then you knew he wasn't 'minding his own business.' You knew he was investigating the matter when he told you of the entire situation..."

"Which just goes to show my mistake in taking him at his word, doesn't it? I had no idea where he'd gotten his information from, and I never dreamed that Suoh would be involved in it! This is a new low, even for him..."

Fukurou closed his eyes. "I fail to see the connections you are making Ms. Oki. Yes, I am the source of the information. Mr. Yuki has already imparted his aquired knowledge on you, and with the amount he and, your brother, have been around one another, I hypothesise he was not alone when he gave you the disclosure. So why does any of this come as a shock to you now?"

"Because he's not going to stop there, Fukurou. Especially if he has someone to goad him on and encourage him. Suoh wasn't there when he told me; he told me after he showed up in my apartment and took me out of it against my will! I didn't see Suoh until later and I can't see Suoh not knowing Yuki told me. Yuki couldn't wait! And now he's got Suoh as an in with me to try and find out more, to see what else he can dig up and interfere in things that don't concern him!
"Baoh says it's nothing, and I have no reason not to believe him."

Fukurou tilted his head. "It most assuradly, is not nothing, Ms. Oki," Fukurou said boldly. "But perhaps he has already dealt with it. You sound like you trust Mr. Yuki as much as I do Baoh," he pointed out...

"Something like that," Oki replied. "I trust Baoh. If he says it's nothing for me to worry about, then it's not but it looks like I'm not going to have that luxury."

"But Ms. Oki," Fukurou said, still not understanding it. "If Mr. Yuki promised to mind his own business, is it simply the fact that he is from the Wind country that you do not trust him? Ms. Otomeken told me not to trust him either, she said he was a deserter and would always lie to save his sorry... behind," he peraphrased. "Is he so evil a person?"

"I know he lies, Fukurou, and that's the problem with people who do that. Once they lose your trust, it's hard to get back. I used to trust Yuki, I never would have questioned him before. But maybe there's something to what Otomeken says. He not evil, but he's out for himself."

"That stands up to the," he accented his next word heavily for point, "stereotype I've heard of the Hiddne Sand village. May I enquire as to how it was that he had lost your trust Ms. Oki? Ms. Otomeken would never back up her claims of Mr. Yuki, she just - warned me, so to speak."

"I don't know if it's my place, really," Oki admitted. "There was... an incident. Involving an old girlfriend of his. She had been in trouble, and he had done nothing to help her. He says that she had left him, ended the relationship and gave no indication that she was coming back. Baoh, who found her, makes it sound as though things were otherwise but admits he doesn't know everything. He brought her back here, badly injured."

"I will understand if you do not want to travel this particular path of conversation with me Ms. Oki. But would it not be Yuki who would know this information, and not Baoh, as he has readily admitted? From what Ms. Otomeken informs me of his history with abandonment, it certainly seems plausible, but I fail to understand how that should shatter your trust in him." He shook his head and spoke briefly to himself. "Social related emotions are so dificult to understand..."

"He was pursuing me, Fukurou. He and I dated, a long time ago and we were starting to again. It's not a comforting thought that the person you're involved with wouldn't come looking for you if you failed to come home some day. Especially when you're confronted with that after a bad mission."
