"Don't be. I'm not," Yuki replied lacking emotion as well as eye contact. "I'm far better off now anyway." He said...
There food arrived shortly after and Yuki dug in. He wasn't hungry, but he was still quite mad at the fact that even ventrilliquism had left his vocal folds sore. He missed his ice dearly...

Lenore ate steadily, but seemed to do so out of necessity than out of any real enjoyment. She pondered as she ate, looking around often and keeping her head tilted slightly. She was not fooled by Yuk's attempt at nonchalance, just as she was sure he wasn't fooled by hers. But not everybody needed to be forced to talk about things. That was Kaliri's MO, not hers.
She ate her meal in silence, and though she had consumed everything in front of her, she found she did not yet feel full. That realization made her a little leery of trying a demonstration like that in the alley again.
Setting her plate aside, she took one last cursory glance around the room and settled back on Yuki. "This rival, what is his name? Perhaps he can teach me how to use this." She gestured to the kunai, wrapped in her pouch, and leaned forward on her elbows, settling them on the tabletop.

"Her," Yuki corrected. "Best damn fighter in this village if you ask me. I don't think one of us has ever beaten the other, but rather staggered into the hospital on each other's arms together after every match." It was obvious that from Yuki's words, he had more than passing respect for the person. "Akira. But she's out of commission for the time being she just... Had a loss..." It was no ones business to know that Akira had been pregnant with twins and had lost them both shortly after their birth - for which she was in a coma for and hadn't even met them...

lenore sighed, waiting as yet another wall went up to box her in. She was beginning to feel like a rat in a maze. Here she was, following those scents all over the place, and getting more and more frustrated with every screeching stop she had to make.
She rubbed at her eyes again, and took another deep breath. She was just tired. Everything would look better in the morning, she was sure.
"That extra space in the barracks. good price for a good tenant?" She asked, seeing no other alternative. When she wasn't so exhausted, perhaps, she'd try to find out what had happened to her house. Worst case, she could stay with Kaliri after this. But for now, she just really needed something to make her unconscious, so she could get away from the frustration.

"Crash there tonight if you want. Not like anyone's going to say anything since I have the place to myself for the time being. After that, you'll probably have to talk to the Kage, but if you're actually going to train here to become a leaf nin- it should be free. That's the price I pay at any rate..."

Lenore chewed her lip for a moment. Was she actually going to try to do that? Could she?
"Well, either way, a place to crash tonight sounds wonderful." She twisted a bit to dig a few coins out of her purse, tied securely to the inside of her pouch. "Lunch is on me." She grinned, standing swiftly to pay the bill. As she did, her knee popped and she grimaced, shaking it a moment before heading off towards the counter.

"Yeah... You need to crash." Yuki left some money on the table before she made it across to pay. "Come on." he said and started to walk out...
"There aren't divided showers or anything, since it's normally just a men's barracks... But since it'll only be the two of us in the whole hall, I'm sure we can coordinate..."

Lenore looked down at the table, then recalled that things were done differently here in Konoha. This would mean some time readjusting.
"Trust me, a shower is the least of my concerns at this point." Again she frowned, and stuffed the coins in her pocket. This was leaving them significantly unbalanced. She'd have to remember it for another time.
She picked up her bag and slung it over her shoulder, turning to follow Yuki out from the restaurant, letting him lead the way. As they exited into the dimming light of late afternoon, a small black shadow stood, and took to the streets in front of them, pacing them out from a distance. Lenore looked up into the sky, at the brilliant colours painted across the sky. A sudden and heartily unexpected sigh escaped her lips, telling of her contentment. She smiled to herself, a real smile, and her step relaxed just slightly.
"If only passing time Could make me weep As beautiful, as pure As the setting sun And one more day Not yet begun."
She quoted. Strains of another voice pulled through hers, an accept as though long forgotten, a cadence and inflection clearly not her own.

Yuki smiled back at her. "Beautiful little piece of poetry - never been much of one for sun imagery though - I've always been more of a night person as it were..."
Yuki opened the unlocked door and held it for Lenore to enter. There were about twelve beds in a row, all made. Only one of them had a used storage space. A standing locker, a foot locker, a katana shelf, and a mobile closet - which is to say a rack on wheels which Yuki had a few things hanging from.... "Which ever one you like," he offered...

Lenore wandered from bed to bed, finally settling on the closest free bed to the door. "It's about the end of day, and the beginning of secrets." She smiled. "It's a piece of a much longer poem. About the beauty of night reflected in the garish parts of the day." She shrugged out of her pack, tossing it on a nearby bed, and dropping onto the one she claimed. She picked at her belt, pulling it clear of her outfit, which now without the belt revealed itself to be one full piece. Pulling off her pouches, and pockets, and a number of other odds and ends hidden on her, she produces pouches, packets, ropes, knives and plates of looped metal from her clothing, reducing her size significantly.
Stretching out on the bed, she took a few minutes to breathe deeply. "Sometimes, the feeling of being the only thing alive in the midnight world is ... powerful." Her sentence cut off as she yawned wide.

Yuki smirked. "You're never the only thing alive in the midnight world," he said with some assuraty. "Get some sleep," he said hanging up his katana and other weapons to go and hit the gym on the other side of the bunker. He most certainly was not ready to sleep any time soon...

Lenore nodded vaguely, her hand twitching slightly as her body began to shut down for sleep. She struggled against it for a moment, and raised her head, opening her bleary eyes for a moment to catch a glimpse of Yuki as he walked towards the door.
"Yuki-san." She called, hoping to catch him before he made it out the door.

Yuki paused as he was passing the showers to get to the workout side of the bunker and looked over his shouler. "Yeah?" he asked...

Lenore smiled at him, whatever else weighing on her mind slipping away as slep threatened to overwhelm her.
"Thanks" she whispered.

Yuki gave a half smile and nodded, and then went into the gym to hit the weights...
