Lenore walked through the market, looking absently. here and there she picked up something pretty and let it drop. Her friend, her first friend in gods knew how long, was a little upset right now... there had to be something pretty to buy her so she could feel better. Lenore, not having spent a lot of time with other girls in the past, and always not wanting to, had no idea how to fix the situation. But she did know that all girls liked something pretty now and again. That she'd learned from her sister.

A hand came out of no where and caught the little ornament. "You should be careful how you drop these things," Yuki said, setting it down gently, "they're very fragile." He stepped back and started looking at a close by rack of books again...

Lenore looked over and nodded, then smiled. She raised an eyebrow, and signed "Thank you", then extended her hand in greeting, Raising her eyebrow again.

It was awkward, but Yuki returned in sign as well, "you're wellcome. I'm sorry, I didn't realise you were mute." He hadn't used his sign language in a very long time, and was a bit rusty, plus it was a different dialect, being from the Sand, but at least he got by...

Lenore's dark face brightened drastically. she started to sign a little more excitedly. "You speak my language, easterner!" She hesitated for a second and then thought it through, what she'd just heard. She doubled over, laughing.

Yuki raised a quizical brow. "Not well," he replied in sign. He was going to elaborate on the training of the Sand ninjas, but couldn't help but wonder what had been so funny... That's when he started to realize that if she were actually mute, she would most likely not have a perfected sound of a voice behind her laugh...

Lenore wiped tears from her eyes. "Just because kittens are born in the hearth oven, doesn't make them muffins." She signed, quoting. "Also, things are not always as they appear." She chuckled, and turned to put some money down on the counter, deciding finally to buy a necklace for Kaliri. It was a lily on a chain, decorated in second-grade amethysts. "Also, 'seek that which veil'd from eyes of those who see naught what could have done'."

Yuki had to pay very close attention to try and catch all of what she was saying, and, of course, failed to grasp everything. "Well then, rubber baby buggy bumpers to you too," he said outloud with a little laugh and then started to sign again. "I'm sorry, I'm far rustier than I thought..."

Lenore took a look around, and then asked slowly. "Buggy bumpers?" She grinned. "I don't know what that part means, but it's true, I could use to practice my language again. Do you know of other languages?" She signed, taking Yuki at the lightest touch of his elbow and leading him away from the stall, down the street.

Yuki glanced back at the books for a second and then shrugged, he could come back later. Yuki laughed at the buggy bumpers thing and just shook his head to say, don't worry about it. Then, continuing to sign, he answered, 'a few, it is part of the genin training where I am from..."

"Good, then we can discuss languages. Which do you know?" She asked, walking along beside him.

Yuki was a little surprized to actually hear words from the girl but was glad that he didn't have to use sign language anymore. "Well, as you can see, I do have some sign. Obviously Japanese, English, Germanic, and a few Cant languages. Then there is an evolved form of Sandscrit, but I am not at liberty to discuss that..."

Lenore looked at him a little sardonically... "Okay, that's fine.... no ancient sandscit." She said with her slow, rolling accent. "What about Middle Eastern languages. Muslim speakers, I find, are quite eloquent, and forward."

"Sorry, I've never learned any of those, with the exception of Sandscrit, and I suppose that I did learn a little of the ancient language, but it would be difficult for me to keep up with anyone even speaking slowly in it..." Yuki continued to walk with her, but couldn't help but wonder where they were going...

"Ah," she said, a little dissapointed, and looked straight ahead while she walked. "Oh, it's not you, just I haven't heard anyone speaking my own language in so long. I know there is one person nearby I could speak it with, but I do not think that would be a good idea..." Aimlessly, she led him to wander.
